Green Energy Contracting, LLC’s (GEC) champion spirit proved strong when it was recently awarded an $11 Million contract. One of America’s most influential contractors, BL Harbert teamed with GEC to bid on the restoration of the water distribution system at the Naval Support Activity facility/harbor in Panama City. For over a decade, Green Energy Contracting has partnered with BL Harbert on a number of federal projects. This fall the long-standing partnership paid off well for Patrick Davis and his company of over 100 employees.

Naval Support Activity Panama City is located on beautiful St. Andrews Bay in Panama City Beach, Florida. It has direct, deep-water access to the Gulf of Mexico. Panama City Beach provides a perfect location and environment for conducting year-round training, testing and research. NSA's largest tenant activity is Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), which is still one of the major research development, test and evaluation laboratories of the Navy. Another tenant activity at NSA Panama City is the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center (NDSTC), the largest diving facility in the world.

BL Harbert is a diversified construction company specializing in design-build, construction management, and general contracting for both national and international clients. Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, BL Harbert often relies on quality subcontractors and vendors to ensure that the expectations of its clients are exceeded. To qualify as a subcontractor, companies must complete the prequalification process, be financially strong, and have a proven track record. GEC has been fortunate to work with BL Harbert on a few similar projects, however the NSA Water Distribution System Restoration will be GEC’s largest contract to date.

As an exclusive subcontractor, Green Energy Contracting, LLC.’s work will include the replacement of approximately 50,000 LF of PVC water main. This will include the removal and replacement of valves and fire hydrants and will include the reconnection of both the domestic water supply and the reconnection of the new fire protection mains to all of the existing buildings on the installation. GEC’s portion of work will also include the removal and replacement of existing roadway, sidewalks, and landscaping. This project has a term of three years commencing in December 2020.

Mr. Davis said he was ecstatic to receive the winning bid and said this is what winning looks like for Green Energy Contracting.
